Part Time Copywriter

You love to write. You geek out on yoga and essential oils. The cashiers at the Food Co-op know you by name. And now, you need a job. Preferably one that doesn’t tie you down to specific hours or make you shovel to get to work.

Well, you’re in luck. Green Ink Copywriting is hiring a part-time content writer. Your responsibilities will include writing clear, concise copy for blogs, emails, social media, websites, and marketing materials for small to mediumsized business clients, primarily in the natural health and wellness niche. You must be able to work efficiently and generate material that is engaging, informative, and persuasive.

  • 20 hours per week
  • Starting wages $15-20 per hour depending on experience
  • Flexible hours
  • Ability to work partially or completely from home
  • On-the-job training in copywriting and marketing

The in-house writer will be responsible for writing clear, concise copy for blogs, emails, social media, websites, and marketing materials for small to medium size business clients of our agency. The writer must be able to work efficiently and generate material that is informative, engaging, and persuasive.

As LinkedIn’s Talent Solutions site puts it, a good copywriter can write: “an ad that’s as memorable as it is funny. An easy-to-read website that also informs. A brochure you want to keep and frame, rather than toss away. With these tools, a copywriter can make you laugh, cry, change your mind, and inspire action—all in 10 or fewer words. The best copywriters take readers on a journey that educates while it persuades.”

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can write quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality
  • Thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • Is a creative thinker with the ability to take the initiative on a project while adhering to guidelines
  • Is able to follow instructions to a “T”
  • Has a passion for marketing and customer service
  • Can effectively research topics online
  • Is passionate about and fluent in social media, especially Facebook and Instagram
  • Is highly empathic and able to adapt their voice and style to suit various clients and audiences
  • Loves learning and can pick up on things quickly
  • Is not afraid to learn new digital technology
  • Is passionate about natural health and wellness and sustainability 
  • Can quickly grasp highly technical information and explain it in ways the average person can understand 
  • Works well independently yet also coordinate well with a team and meet deadlines consistently
  • Wants to use their creative skills to help others live happier, healthier lives
  • Ideally has prior experience writing for business
  • Likes to make work fun

Bonus points for any of the following:

  • Social media and/or content marketing experience
  • Personal and/or professional experience in natural health and wellness
  • Training in proofreading, style guides, etc.
  • Experience working with content management systems, WordPress, etc.
  • Graphic design skills
